Day 198: Stroller Nap

We went for a walk yesterday afternoon. Moses fell asleep in the stroller.

Skill Building: BFF Session

Two of my BFFs from the high school years.

May 25: First Maternity Shoot

Annalise Sarah Abigail is due in September! Here are some photos of the mom and dad to be. Thanks to Marci and Orett for letting me practice on you!

May 24: Shoot for the Moon

ISO 400, 1/400, f 5.6, hand held

May 18: Flutterby

May 16/2010: Quack, Quack

A mama with her babies.
Did you know that Canada geese mate for life?

Look at them playing!

Day 126, May 8: Rainy Day Blues

A little action happy, here. I promise I won't become one of those people who uses an action on everything, but this was fun. I'll quit it once they lose their novelty. A lot of these are blended combinations of different ones, but they are all by Coffeeshop.

We went to get coffee and go sit by the lake.
Butterscotch vintage turned down to 60% opacity. I think there's also a little S-curve pop.

Soft + Dreamy plus Squeaky Clean.

We saw this Seagull through the car window.

A mix of butterscotch vintage and the sunkissed action.

I don't remember what this one is.

S-Curve Pop.

Soft+ Dreamy, with some of the layers turned down. I think there's some Squeaky Clean in there too.

Moody Pop, with the vignette turned off and turned down to 40% opacity.

I'm not sure exactly what this is a combination of.

Sunkissed and Butterscoth Vintage. This is my favourite combination for this photo.

This is Classic Black and White + Bittersweet Vintage, with Vintage turned down and the high key turned up.

Moody Pop, adjusted.

May 4, Day 122: Squirrels and Jewels

Today my macro lens filters came. I have a real macro lens on my wishlist, but until then these will do! I didn't have a lot of time to practice between studying and taking care of Moses, but I did manage to snap a couple pictures of my ring.

To compare, here's a shot a took with my 50 mm lens without the filter.

I also snapped this picture of a squirrel outside in a tree, using my telephoto lens (without a macro filter).

Day 121, May 3

I really don't like how you can't adjust the way the photos are framed when you make a collage in picassa. I actually did NOT chop off Moses' feet in the swing picture, but picassa decided to do it for me. Awesome.

April 29 (Day 117)

Day 106: Swings, take two

I took Moses back to the park for more swing photos. We went earlier in the day this time and the shadows weren't as harsh, though they're still somewhat unfortunate on some of the pictures. I also tried to get more full body shots and different angles this time as suggested by people on my photography board. I chopped a couple limbs here and there, but I'm honestly not too concerned about it. I'm not sure how I'd be able to get any photos where I'm closer to him without chopping off a finger or toe here and there--swings are fast. I read in a book on portraits that if you need to chop a limb, you should just make sure that it isn't at a joint, and I think I managed to avoid that. What do you think? Calin took the first one.
