Day 197: Fix-it Friday

Fix-it Friday:

My Edits:
Clean

Vintage

Black and White (tinted). This is actually my favourite of the three.

Steps: I opened each of the photos in Adobe Camera Raw and fixed the exposure using fill light, blacks, recovery and clarity. I adjusted the levels in Elements, and then I ran Pioneer Woman's Boost Action on the first one (with the Zing layer turned down to 50%). On the second I used Pioneer Woman's Colorized action, at a lower opacity. On the third I used CoffeeShop's Soft & Dreamy Action, but changed the colour from purple to blue and lowered the opacity. Then I mixed in an extremely low opacity of the Heartland action.

The side of his face is obviously REALLY blown out, and the rest of the picture is underexposed.

My Edit:

Here's what I did:
-Adjusted the lighting levels
-Adjusted the colour curves
-Ran  Coffeeshop Sunkissed--with the brightness turned down on the flare and the lightness adjusted. I also moved the flare so that it would be on the appropriate side of his face
-I ran Coffeeshop Butterscotch Vintage, but I turned it way down to 7% opacity
-Coffeeshop Soft and Dreamy. I changed the colour layer from purple to orange and then turned it down. Then I turned down the ivory fill layer to 60% opacity.
-Finally, I ran noiseware. Whew!

Hmm. . .I've decided that my edit makes him look like a ghost. I'll have to come back and fix it later, but right now I have to hit the books!
Or not. I couldn't resist. I just warmed it up using the temperature slider:

Edit:

I don't think this photo really needed much. I just cropped, did some curve adjustments and rounded the corners. Voila. Oh, and I also added vignette.

Fix-it Friday

It's fix-it Friday over at i heart faces. I have never participated in this editing challenge before, but I thought I'd give it a try. As you know, I've been working on my black and white conversions, so I thought I'd b/w this one. Feel free to let me know if you think it's muddy.
