I really don't like how you can't adjust the way the photos are framed when you make a collage in picassa. I actually did NOT chop off Moses' feet in the swing picture, but picassa decided to do it for me. Awesome.

Day 107: Backlighting

I quickly tried out backlighting on our evening walk. I didn't have as much time to work on my settings as I wanted because someone (Read: Calin) just wanted to walk to the store and not pose for a million pictures. Unheard of. Anyway, this is what I got. I took some on manual, those weren't good, then I switched to no flash mode before someone (Read: Calin) took my head off. What settings do you use for successful backlighting? I can't wait to get out and try again. I'm also pretty sure these are all OOF. Ugh.
Day 99: Mr. Brown Can Moo. . .

Can You?
Yes, I selective coloured this. Yes, I'm aware that that's taboo. Yes, I'm also aware that I accidentally greyed out a bit of the bottom of the book. No, I don't care lol. I don't know why, but when I took this photo this is how I saw it in my head, and I can't say it looks as cool on screen as it did in my brain, but I had to try it.

In the mirrored elevator at the mall. Moses loves mirrors and is starting to recognize himself. He gets very excited if he sees his reflection or a picture of himself. :)
Day 85: The Opening of the Gifts

I got Calin ROME on DVD for his birthday. He has wanted this series for YEARS, so he was very excited. Moses got him a card with Monster from the Muppets on the front, because Moses's nickname is Monster and he LOVES the Muppets. I did take pictures on day 85, but I don't feel like posting any of them, so here are a few from day 84. Nothing special, but I like the moment they capture.
Day 83: Sunny f/16

I tried out the rule that says in direct sun, if you set your f/stop to 16 and your ISO and shutterspeed are set to the same thing, you photos will be perfectly exposed. Calin wasn't willing to stop walking while I was doing this, so its far from greatness, but at least I know the rule works.
Then Calin took this one of me. I just noticed that he chopped off my arm. Boo lol.
Day 63: playtime!

I swear Moses doesn't spend all day in his exersaucer. It's just that he is CONSTANTLY moving and restraining him is one way of getting him to stay somewhat still so I can take photos. So yesterday while Calin was in the shower and I was supposed to be getting Moses ready to go shopping, the light in the living room got really nice like it does every morning, so instead I plopped him in his exersaucer and took a bunch of action shots of him playing. I'm pretty happy with how most of them turned out. Oh, I also shot in RAW and actually set the white balance for the first time. And then Calin came and confiscated him, and I got some photos of that too. There's a colour cast from the exersaucer in most of these. My next project is to figure out how to remove a color cast. Prepare for picture overload!

His one eye is a little soft, but I love his expression. I also chopped his fingers which is a no no, but oh well.
Love his wrinkled nose!
Upside-down and cross-processed.
This may be a compositional nightmare, but my blog, my rules.
Not a technically great photo, but they love each other.
